The following product review was printed in the April issue of the magazine, Touring News: Helmet Fresh is a product I have been using and am glad we found. After riding coast to coast last summer we needed something that would clean the inside of our helmets. After a warm day of riding, I find that my helmet gets a little odor impaired when it dries out. This product comes in a small spray bottle that takes very little room. I spray liberally inside the helmet and rub it in with a rag or my hand. When it air dries, there is no odor left at all (they don't use perfumes either). This product claims to be non-flamable, non-toxic, non-allergenic and environmentally friendly. According to the label, it attacks the bacteria and mildew which causes the odor. I found this to be easier and more effective than soap and water. The spray containers are 4 oz and cost $4.99 each + S&H

Despite being out and about in the wind, bacteria and mildew will, over time,
build up inside your lid and make it smell a bit musty. Now you can have an
